With a growing family, the house on the north coast of São Paulo state needed to adapt to the owners’ new lifestyle while preserving the essence of the original design, which was characterized by its natural elements. Although a new bathroom and bedroom were added and the living area was doubled in size, it isn’t easy to distinguish between the original features and the latest additions due to the seamless integration of architecture and updated décor. Designer furniture, custom cabinetry, and works of art set the tone for the renovation, which is filled with surprising details, such as a collector’s pinball machine in the library, wooden poles turned into bunk bed railings, and master suite walls clad in Miracema stone. Outside, the wooden deck takes center stage, transformed into an open-air living room with moledo stone sofas and loose cushions.
